If you have a valid, active eID, and know your PIN, you can always obtain electronic certificates, and deeds of civil status created after 31 March 2019 for free via mijn dossier / mon dossier / Meine Akte.

Conditions for obtaining a transcript or extract of a civil status certificate through the embassy in Oslo.

  • The person to whom the act refers is registered in the consular registers in Oslo
  • The act is listed in the Civil Status Deeds Database (DABS/BAEC)

 

Who is entitled to a transcript or extract?

  • The person to whom the act refers
  • The spouse
  • The legal cohabitant
  • The legal representative (parents or guardian in the case of minor children, the administrator)
  • The relatives in the ascending or descending line
  • The heirs 
  • Their notary
  • Their lawyer

 

Can I obtain a multilingual transcript or extract?

Transcript are only available in Dutch, French or German.

Extracts are available in Dutch, French, German or multilingual (including English).

You provide us, by e-mail or post, with the following documents:

The embassy will investigate whether you meet the conditions for issuance and contact you as soon as possible.

 

Consular certificates

The embassy can provide the following consular certificates to Belgians registered in the consular registers in Oslo:

  • Certificate of marital status (NL, FR, DE ,ENG)
  • Certificate of family composition (NL, FR, DE, ENG)
  • Certificate of registration (NL, FR, DE, ENG)
  • Certificate of nationality (NL, FR, DE ,ENG)
  • Certificate of residence (NL, FR, DE ,ENG)
  • Certificate of residence with history(NL, FR, DE ,ENG)
  • Certificate of maintenance of nationality (NL, FR, DE)
  • Extract from the consular population register (NL, FR, DE)

  • The person to whom the certificate refers
  • Their legal representative (parents or guardian in the case of minor children, the administrator)
  • Their special representative
  • Their lawyer

 

Application procedure

You provide us, by e-mail, with the following information:

  • The desired certificate
  • The reason for the request (e.g. marriage, proof of residence for a Belgian bank)
  • The desired language
  • Copy of passport or identity card
  • Proof of payment (see rates)
